I'm not sure that is (at least currently) true - I'm pretty sure you can find a fairly bare bones "nokia" type cell phone these days and they are usually given away as a basic option by at least some providers. Of course with Smart Phones, the real expense isn't the phone itself but the monthly phone and data plan…]need[/B] it but like most folks, I find myself reaching for it way too often at times I should probably be focusing my energy to something more healthy and productive. I guess what I'm saying is in a way I envy those who have held out and "get by" without one - the older I get, the more I desire a more simple life.
