Amana brand stove?

Post by joshh »

I need a new stove / oven / range / whatever you want to call it.

The orangebox has a very nice looking one for $398 on sale.

It is an updated model that replaces this one. The new model has no reviews but the previous model has 4.5 out of 5 stars.

The brand is Amana. I looked it up and it's made in America and owned by whirlpool. Anyone have any opinions for or against?

I would say it's a good deal. Amana brand appliances are made in Amana, Iowa and used to be a company in its own right before Whirlpool bought it some years back. Amana always produced quaility appliances back in the day and Whirlpool is a quality name as you may well know. Plus I grew up in Iowa not far from Amana, so you'd be supporting my fellow Iowans (or Iowegians :p ) as well as your fellow Americans.:D
The next time you think your idea is stupid, remember someone in a meeting once said, "let's make a movie about tornadoes full of sharks!"

Ever consider gas?
Mixed feelings is watching your mother in law driving off a cliff in your new Rolls Royce. :) :(

I'd LOVE to have a gas one but my house (actually the whole subdivision) is not setup for it.

Although...I live on top of the Barnett Shale... I think I'll run a pipe into the ground and see what happens? :D

Thanks for the input Craig...it makes me feel better about it. I had never heard of Amana before.
