Nice work, JC. I liked your other Sketchups too. Thanks for sharing! I just started using Sketchup yesterday - I made the tutorial house, a sphere, a donut/inner tube, a cone, and a mishapen pentagon 3D object - dodecahedron

I want to thank you again for sharing the SteadyRest Drawing. I have downloaded the file but was unable to manipulate it like I wanted (felt like I needed to) but I have gotten all of the information that I need and am well on my way to making drawings for each of the unique pieces.

It has been another educational experience with Sketchup.

Each of the objects in this drawing serves as a guide for developing many of the other pieces. These two pieces are the foundation (reference) for the others. The whole concept of the SteadtRest design is impressive.

Thanks Dusty! If you make any of it - please post. I only made this in sketchup, so no real world testing has been done, any tweaks or changes that you think of, please let me know.

Note: If you want to rotate the top portion (which is grouped), unhide layer 0 and you'll see a vertex in the pivot hole. PM me if you need this explained further.

I will be attempting to make one. I do appreciate your short tutorial. I have learned still another little bit about Sketchup. I don't (or have not) used layers all that much and this was informative.

I am in the process of do sketches that basically replicate yours. This will help me understand how it assembles while at the same time allowing some form fit testing.
