Can you help a blind woodworker? Not an appeal for $$
On another forum, The Patriot Woodworker, we are helping a young woodworker who was blinded in Afghanistan. We’ve been joined by several tool suppliers/manufacturers. I am asking my friends here to take a look at our blog and see if there might be a jig or device that could be made to assist a visually impaired wood worker. Thanks, guys.

Gene, anyone thought of using a Shopsmith for the lathe?
If so, and if it is an ER, let me know. Us ER users could probably put together an ER as a lathe, as well as a drill-press. Possibly a disc sander, as well. (I'm not sure an ER table saw would be a good idea, for someone with limited sight.)
I've got parts.

Didn't take the time to look at the blog but the thing I thought first about was a guy on the routerforums, tom perhaps who was from down under who taught routing to blind students. I think his user name was something templatetom????
If he is still around or not I don't know but the would be a great resource.

Thanks to all of you who have contacted me for an address to send your jigs and other adaptive devices.
