I used my combination blade as my rip blade is thin kerf and that would probably put too much pressure on the thin blade.

Finally Finished
Attached is are pics of the second valet tray. This one has a bit of a story.
As I mentioned in a previous post, the mitre runners were proud of the table top and causing rough cuts when the piece crossed over them. With this tray, it was more than rough. After two or three passes I realized I would never be able to sand out the gouges so I took the jig apart, took out two runners that were causing the most problem and set everything back up. Of course I didn't get the exact same angle so I had a problem, the cove was now off center.
This was solved by running the board through twice, once in one direction and again in the reverse direction. It actually gave me a wider cove, which I wanted and had considered earlier but left a ridge down the center if the tray. I actually like this one better than thee walnut one and may give our grandson the choice, (though Grandma prefers the other).
I now have to find a way to grind down the runners so I don't have this problem in the future. I had started on two but ran out of patience as it was a slow process using a file and sandpaper.
I guess that wraps it up for this Christmas. It didn't start out too great as Santa's sleigh got damaged to the tune of $6000 last Thursday night by a plow, but that is another story.

I saw one of these at an antique store. What are they worth and I'll look next time I'm close to compare.I saw alot of other planes that ranged 55-85. Whats your thoughts about aquiring planes that way and investing in some nice water stones.
