I've been using the dado set.

Forget it? Heck, I had never even hear of it!keakap wrote:Don't forget the bridle joint. There's a band saw cutting sequence that is almost automatic, fast, accurate and requires no measuring or layout (!). {Haven't tried it on the table saw yet.}

I Googled it, and it is indeed reputed to be a very strong joint that can look great in the right application. So I hereby second the request for more info on the quick-and-easy bandsaw technique!
Yes, but had not considered the tenon master since it is a fairly recent acquisition. Thanks!TheBigE wrote:Ever thought of using the router chuck in drillpress mode? You could use stops on fence. And you only have to square the corners when done. Shopsmith even has a package for this very setup. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/catalog/rm_slotmortising.htm

A very good Craigslist day today. First I called Shopsmith, and they do have all three sizes of router pin and the pin insert in stock -- for a total of $25.Gene Howe wrote:Dennis,
I'd offer $150 and see where it goes from there. Wouldn't go over $175...Well, $200, but only if you really love it.
Nice acquisition!BuckeyeDennis wrote:A very good Craigslist day today. First I called Shopsmith, and they do have all three sizes of router pin and the pin insert in stock -- for a total of $25.Shopsmith comes through again!
Meanwhile, the seller had dropped his asking price to $150 after a couple months with no takers. So I told him about the missing pins and insert, and offered him $125. He barely hesitated before accepting -- guess I should have tried offering $100. ]23607[/ATTACH]

Ed, the table is perfect, and the stand is indeed wobbly per your prediction. There's a few knobs and fasteners missing, but nothing that $10 and a visit to the local Ace Hardware won't fix. So it looks as if replacing the missing bottom rails on the stand is the only real work to be done.
Thanks for all the feedback, guys!
