Resaw blade

Thanks, guys.
My reason for asking was that, while I've used the SS and the Suffolk, I wasn't thrilled with either. Never used a Wood Slicer.
After reviewing Bud's post, I have a suspicion that my lack of enthusiasm for either blade is due to my setup and technique.

Another thing I thought of.....

The Cookbook case I built awhile back has slats for the back. (more detail on the slats starting here) It's built out of white ash, so re-sawing 4" wide slats takes a little time and patience.

When I did the 'review' of the 2 different blades, I had the standard blade blocks. When I did the bookcase, I used a set of "Cool Blocks". I was able to set the cool blocks closer to the blade and had really good results on the ash. I don't remember if I used the 5/8" SS blade or the Wood Slicer..... Guessing I used the Wood Slicer as it seemed to tax the 1/2 horse motor on the bandsaw less when I did the original comparison, and that ash is pretty tough......

I believe success in resawing depends on a sharp blade and careful setup on the band saw.

careful set up, sharp blade and a tall fence. The blade must be parrallel to the fence and the fence at 90 deg to table. Most of all DON'T RUSH IT.

I found this thread interesting. I have a 5 x 8 in oak timber I want to use for a leg vice ( a someday project). For the leg vice project I have been considering purchasing a special band saw blade.
Anyway yesterday I needed two pieces 1 3/32 x 2 3/16 in rather than using the planer to size a re-purposed 2 x 6 board I used the SS band saw with a 1/2 in SS blade to re-saw the board. I am more than happy with the results. As a bonus I now have a 5 1/2 x 1/8 in thick board I can add to my "you never know pile". The following two pictures show the results.
