Gonna Brag

Post by debrown »

Yesterday I started to run my 500 circa 1983 in drill press mode.... Squealed like a banshee! Instead of continuing my project (Router storage cabinet), with my model 520 I decided to check "real quick" One thing leads to another and it ended up being the bearings in the motor. (GE). Once I figured out the bearings had to be replaced, all the bearing supply houses within range had closed. I dug thru and discovered I had the exact size bearings I needed. They were ordered for a Jet bandsaw but didn't need to use them. (Actually the only two I didn't need for the bandsaw:D )
Long story short. 24 hours later I was back to drilling holes in wood. A lot quieter also.
I hope your weekend was as good as mine.
