Scroll saw sanding blades

Post by wrmnfzy »

Anyone ever use the Olson scroll saw sanding blades? What kind of results? I'm considering the 1/4" and 1/2" pinned end blades.

I have seen this but mine uses pin end blades. I have glued some sand paper onto used blades, emory boards glued to used blades, etc. just curious if anyone has used the ones mentioned.

Scroll Saw Sanding Strips

Post by berry »

I used them on the Wooden Gear Clock project, see here.

They worked okay for my project. Got mine at the local Woodcraft. They don't offer a broad range of grits and, needless to say, they wear out pretty quickly. But if you don't have a strip sander they can be a help. My old Delta is a pinless system but I can't imagine that the pins would make a difference.

Thanks for that link, Dan. Even though I subscribe to Steve's channel, I somehow missed that tip. I'll try that one out on my current project.
