No more pics. UPS has it now.
Think I got the swivel pin fitting figured out. Epoxy the top pins in and drill for longer, loose pins in the bottoms. Shove the bottom pins up into the wood and let them drop in to the bottom holes. It works in theory.

THREE more. I mis labled the post. It should have been "first of FOUR"

Next two times, cut(or drill differently) the pins slightly different lengths. Longer(shallower) pair first then the next longer . . . as you rock the mating piece onto the pins. Bevel the ends.

The bottom one is 3 1/4, middle is 2 3/4 and the top is 1 3/4.

Nope...well I made the leaves. The rest of the table and the chairs were salvaged. We got to an estate sale late. That dining set hadn't sold and was headed to the dump. It was pretty beat up, but solid maple. Offer of $50 was accepted.

Good plan!

Make sure you hit the 'sweet' diameter clearance( guaranteed to 'fall'(wax em), but not so sloppy as to make the arms wobbley).

Now that the 'prototype' is done, ya gonna make all three at once next time?

Maybe a little coutersink will help guide the pins. Probably need to polish them up and wax them, too. They are a tight fit in a 1/4 hole. Maybe, a 1/32 over size bit for both holes? Also, the wife suggested eliminating 2 of the wings per side. I agree!!!! Two will provide enough real estate for most ladies' baubles, bangles, beads and bright shiny things.

As to 3 at a time, the parts for 3 are cut to size. I prefer cutting M&Ts individually. The drawers have a pretty tight tolerance. They pretty much need to be fit one at a time.

1/32 too big.

1/64 better. or (F or G or H)

Only the 'last' need be oversized.
