This is really not woodworking, but I did drill the center of the dowel. It is a extension to reach stuff up front in truck bed without having to crawl in. Got the idea from Reach EZ Truck Bed Assist Got the squeegee at an estate sale for $2.00, cut it off, put a piece of 1/2 conduit in and expoxy it in and put a piece of dowel on the end. Works great.
