Bad news. released the headstock from the way bars and moved it by hand. There is a piece of the rack missing.

To your knowledge, is there a solution to replacement? If so where? The cam seems to be in good shape, but looks can be deceiving!

If you sent me a PM about the lever to disengage the headstock from the rack, I didn't get it. You can contact me at chknspit@cox.net. I could sure use the lever!!

After my cute response to you about "Okies" it wouldn't blame you for not sending me an email. :)

Been busy, got sidetracked with other stuff and never took the picture but I'll make an effort to do that manana (that's Mexican for "whenever" but sometime.

I don't understand that about a "cute response;" Perhaps I should have been offended. Here are some things I learned when I was much younger:

Never drive to work in a blue Funk. They are very unreliable and dangerous cars.
Don't drive if you're in a Snit. Same reason.
Don't fly off in a Tizzy - they crash.
Ignore slights. When they hatch they become grudges.
Don't hold grudges. They are cute and cuddly when they are small but the consume a lot, grow too large to control and will suck up all your time and energy nursing them. Nursing doesn't help because they never heal. They just become more malignant and ugly.

Since this thread has turned into an 'Okies' dissertation:rolleyes:, I have to marvel at how a couple of generations(or more) has changed the actions of the resultant offspring of the survivors of the dust bowl disaster.

Those original okies would not waste anything they were fortunate to even have. Most had little to nothing.

IMHO being labeled an okie is a compliment.:)

Just do not tell the folks west of there!;)

Thanks for the compliment. Fact is about 15% of the California population in the 50's originated from Oklahoma. Check the 1940 U.S. Census and see where the population lived in 1935. They sure don't like to admit it though.

John Steinbeck saw to that. Problem is that movie told it the way it was, no holds barred.

P.S. "Grapes of Wrath" for the youngsters information.

The lever I am interested in is attached. Borrowed a pic from JPG's disassembly of a Mark VII.

FWIW, that is a lever knob that was prevalent in that time frame. Perhaps a look into electronics suppliers will reveal one????
