Actually, the castings look pretty beefy, and that appears to be a good-sized motor. It might not be a bad machine.

Dang it guys, you are sorely tempting me to buy this sucker. But I just spent three hours last weekend redoing my shop layout in Visio, figuring out how to fit in yet another Dewalt radial arm saw. 1963 vintage, 14", 3hp this time, for the princely sum of $150. What can you cut with it? Anything you want! The light bulb finally came on when I realized that the table of a radial arm saw is ... another worktable!
But fitting the Flash Gordon lathe into the shop would mean displacing my "new" 10ER, which is destined for lathe and drill-press duty. I do still have one small nook where it could be used as a wall-mounted drill press. But that would be almost criminal, as it has a near-pristine original bench with factory legs and casters.
Maybe I can convince my good neighbor friend to buy it, and let me come over to play sometimes ...
