Like of hard to say how much it might bring without knowing where you are. Dermand and thus selling prices are very dependent on location.

Fred is not cheap. He just lives in an area where the older Shopsmiths do not bring top dollar.

I am located in Seattle, there are a lot of dreamers on Craigslist in this area that think their rusty 1960's vintage SS with a band-saw is worth over a grand. I just re-listed mine at 300 based on the feedback, it is in really nice shape and never abused. I have tons of extras like the band-saw and joiner but I am keeping those and only selling the unit. If I had more space I would just keep it and convert it to a shorty or shop deputy but I just don't have the space.

Started out at 1000$ 2= months ago, changed to 800$ about 4 weeks ago, still trying to sell!!!!!!!!!

rbursek, I picked up that exact unit minus the band-saw for 300 bucks a few weeks ago, mine has the upgraded table system and twice as much stuff though including a speed increaser and fence kit thus the reason I am selling my Greeenie. Seems like these machines are like cars in that they take a huge hit on depreciation and then hopefully level out. I am down to 200 bucks on mine and still no interest.

I imagine most of the parts we see on Ebay are from frustration of trying to sell as a "whole" at very low prices. .

I thought about doing that but I would rather see it go to someone who would enjoy it. I just cant rip my grandpas SS apart.

That seems a bit high to me. It doesn't have the jointer or the extra little table insert, although it looks like a nice machine.

Teacherman, the table insert/rest is under the binder, band saws are more costly used by 2x then a little toy 4" jointer at ebay prices. AND, give TM a cigar, that was the point of my post on the 2 in Milw I was refering to. AND the piano story!!! Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
