i live about an hour north of Bakersfield, and have noticed a number of quite reasonable offers in Craigslist for Shopsmith items. High unemployment area. Perhaps the economy is forcing folks to sell cheap?

I didn't know what to expect, since the advertisement says "wood lay $600."

Expect an english challenged person that does not have much knowledge of what is being sold. That would be the 'minimum'.

......and a power station, upgraded bandsaw, strip sander. Says model 500, but sure looks like there is a handwheel on the carriage for table raising. Can't tell if that is a 510 or a 520 floating table in the background. Says 'disassembled but all there". I would be very curious about what is in the 'box'.;) I know if I was closer I would take a look and, maybe, try to make a deal.:D

I agree that it looks like a hand wheel on the carriage, especially in the 2nd photo.
