$50 er on cl in Bay area

Post by fitzhugh »

A certain someone would kill me if I got another so soon, but it seems low enough I should post it. Please let me know if this is not proper. It just seems cheap enough someone might get it instead of buying a needed spare part or two.

PS, I'd like to hear from anyone nearby, I'm in Berkeley. I'd love to do a shop visit and learn a little (like how these things are supposed to sound! )... I'll bring pie.

rbursek, you keep making the point that you are an unencumbered single guy. To whom and what message are you trying to communicate?

That I need not have to answer to anyone. Ask permission, be incombered ect in any way via a relationship. I can be totally selfish to myself. And I feel sorry for those who cant.

Thanks for fixing that. Odd, since I don't use emoticons on forums often/ever. Guess my phone I posted from was interpreting my feelings in addition to mangling what I type!

I gotta say, my wife is beyond patient. But I just brought home a greenie, an 82, a bs, planer and jigsaw. That filled up the shop I was in the middle of setting up so now it is hard to get to the bathroom (odd house)... And promptly took them apart, cleaning them in the kitchen, electrolysis bath just outside the front door, and then I sit and polish in the living room. Let's see... There is still room on her side of the bedroom!
Yeah, I'd pick it up just to part out if I were a bit closer and single.

You just need to buy it, take it apart, and then stick all the various pieces around the shop, garage etc….divide and conquer :D I have four 10E's right now and my wife would have me committed if she knew, simply because the need would be beyond her comprehension…but when you pile them all up in their various parts, she has no clue what all of it is. The other strategy is to keep things a bit cluttered in the shop - she doesn't do clutter well, so she avoids my shop like the plague, which is how my cave is supposed to be
'78 Mark V 500 #27995 (my Dad bought new)
'82 Mark V 500 #96309
Two '47 10E's (serial#4314+6149) - one a dedicated drill press and the other a lathe
Two 10E/ER in parts slowly being restored…#26822 and #????? (SS plate missing)
SPT's: Bandsaw, Belt Sander, Strip Sander, Jointer, Jigsaw, Biscuit Joiner

It would have been nice if they would have took some of the junk off of it before posting a picture.

I though the same thing - the seller took the time to explain how the photos are after he piled a bunch of crap on it…would have been less work to just move the crap and then take the photos.

Sorry, but I was still in the bay area, (Sunnyvale) that would SO be mine!

I think I need to make my baby brother sick, because he and his family were visiting the in-laws last week. They (in-laws) live in Fremont, and he called me from Sunnyvale, while they were visiting. (They even sent me a picture of the Toys-R-Us in Sunnyvale, then I told them it was, and still is, haunted.)(I used to work there.)
