56/57 Greenie with jointer, 85 Mark V with band saw, 63 Goldie with jointer, 3 ER 10s, 1951 vintage, Hernia from the Er 10s, Tool Shop SS clone 6" jointer, and 6" belt sander, Delta 10" TS, Buffalo 6" jointer, Craftsman 12" BS, 10" Ryobi planer. Compound Miter, and misc.

JPG off in a few to calibrate the sped dial on the Greenie, other then whats on the site here any tips?
Measure once, cut as many times as needed to get it right! Bob

I assume you are about to do a 'High Speed Adjustment'.

With no tachometer, the screw top flush with the top of the nut is adequate.

Then outer dial positioning is trivial.

I was planing on both, which first, the high speed?

Never heard the term. Choosing amongst the competing definitions at Urban Dictionary, this one seems to best fit the context:

bv'd
The most abbreviated form of the word "abbreviated". Pronounced "brieved" or "beeved", used satirically to imply clear disdain for the unnecessary use of abbrieves in spoken language. However, it is usually limited to internet speak. It is the 3rd written stage of abbreviation of the word "abbreviated".
  • 1st Abbrieved
  • 2nd Brieved

Yes. The dial is removed to set the HS adjustment, and is the last thing set before reinstalling the crank knob.

A long 3/32"(?) allen wrench is highly recommended.(whatever fits the knob set screw). That flat spring will interfere with with the allen wrench.

If the control sheave is interfering with the speed control the setting is too high. When running the clanging cannot be missed!:rolleyes:

Belt wear will affect the dimensions and speed.

i.e. not an exact adjustment with a worn belt.
