Universal Vacuum Jig

Post by nuhobby »

Hi,

Haven't done much lately on end-projects, but have been fixing up the machines for more eventual jobs.

I had got the Utility Vacuum Extension, but didn't feel like drilling into my machine(s) for mounting it. I also thought it would be nice to be able to mount on either side of the headstock, and at any place on the Way tubes, and possibly any place on the Bench tubes.

So here is my jig to function more or less like the suggested utility-vac-extension mounted on a 510/520-style wide carriage, but also able to straddle the bench-tubes, and go to any machine.

BTW, the DC3300 almost brings me back that old "4 barrel carburetor" sound that I used to look forward to hearing.

Good job, looks like a nice clean solution and easy to set up and break down.

Very nice, Chris! I wood think that something could be added to your jig to support the utility light too. Then you woodn't have to drill holes for that either. Image
