I recently put new windshield wipers on my Explorer. They came with long clear plastic sleeves on them to protect the the edge of the blade.
I thought they strangely familiar and I was sure I had a use for them but I could not quite figure it out the next clean out day for my truck...
They got tossed in the trash and forgotten till yesterday I was in my garage looking for something when I came across one of my dovetail saws
it had a near identical protective sleeve to protect the teeth, it had come with that new. I have several other small saws that could some protection.

And I just threw them away..........

I used them all the time then one day I was sliding it on and my hand slipped after I got the blood to stop I stopped using them:D

Took a hunk of wood cut a slot in it and now I store my blades safely encased in wood.

Another problem with tightly fitting plastic "blade protectors" they can trap moisture and if you're not using that saw often, rust can accumulate unseen between the blade and protector.

I use a saw tail to protect and store my saws.

Do you use it attached to a table?

Wedge powered wagon vise in my split top saw bench. I got the idea from our very own Shipwright. I also added the till, it seemed to be the right place for it. (Link is to my Lumberjocks project)

A larger joiner's bench is on my todo list. It will also have the same wagon vice design incorporated.

Saw bench. Makes more sense than saw horses. Like the wagon vice!!!
