Yet another clone.......Diltec

Post by peterm »

This machine just appeared for sale on our local Kijiji site, a Diltec, likely made in Tiawan. It is not reversible. The jointer is a 6"
But, the seller wants $900 for it....and there are Shopsmiths offered for less here. Appears to be in good shape though.

Looks like an SS with a different nameplate. So much for respecting patents. I suppose patents do expire, but the quality of this is not likely nearly as good as an old SS. Has anyone seen these before?

Looks like a Total Shop clone, with the on/off switch down on the lower pan.

I like the lower "enclosed" storage, I was going to do a shelf but all would get filled with saw dust, I like the drawers!!! Thanks for the pics and better idea!!!

You stole those words right out of my mouth!

Maybe it is to keep the saw dust off them.:D

Maybe they were wrapped with a plastic sleeve in shipping and never removed?
