It is copyright 1965 Bullentin No. 502301. You can down load a PDF file of the manual from shopsmith. I just did.

I don't know where you can buy one but there is a video on YouTube that shows how you can make one that looks a lot stronger than the original.

I made and have available a few of the couplers for the jigsaw. I also have all the jigsaw parts available. If I do not quickly respond, please let me know after a few days as I misplace and lose my notes too often these days.

No, have not found a source yet. There is a video on youtube that shows how to make one out of heavy plastic. Will try to get plastic today and make one. Thanks for your response. Chuck

I'm wondering if there is a good reason for why this needs to be made from plastic.

In a well maintained machine, do those shafts get lubricated? Is heat build up the reason for failure of the plastic part?

Since these are notorious leakers, dry running is not unreasonable to assume contributed to 'melting'.
