I did have to bore some through holes with a spur bit, I set it so the tip of the bit protruded at the TS blade opening on the throat plate. Then so I did not have any tear out on the pieces, flipped them, and finished the hole.
Not all went well though, so need your help here for that!!! Where I have to place 1/2" bolts with a 1 3/8" diam washers, thats why the 1 3/8" counter bore.
The washers are just over 1 3/8 diam, to tight to force in the CB, would most likely cause the wood to split. The counter bore hole also has a 9/16" hole bored in it center for the bolt. I have 8 of them. Ideas?

Measure once, cut as many times as needed to get it right! Bob

On the M5, both clamps should engage a bevel on the underside of the table which pulls the fence downward towards the table.
Maybe I polished and waxed all too well!LOL I looked at the fence off the table, and tighten it, both front and back pieces on the fence move as they should.
I think just more force on it then what it was intended for, in my limited experience, with it in this app. If I would have clamped a board or other type of "stop device", as suggested here I would have been okay.

If the bolts are 1/2", chuck a short flat head screw and jam nut a washer one at a time. The head bevel will center the washer. Spin & file away the excess washer diameter.

Tis easy to overlook the relative ease clamping a board to the table can work as well or better than the rip fence. Those ribs can get in the way. But then when one is clamp destitute. . . . .rbursek wrote:On the M5, both clamps should engage a bevel on the underside of the table which pulls the fence downward towards the table.

IT REALLY HURTS and INHIBITS!!!!
Not after today!!! Going to the other shop today, and will be sure to bring some home!!! Any thoughts on the washers?? Going to check at another source to see if theirs are a touch smaller, these days when it comes to material cost they all seem to "cut a corner" where ever they can.
Exp, Store by me has Ritz crackers on sale occasionally for 2/$5.00, last fall I bought 2 boxes, a month ago I needed more and they had them again on sale 2/$5.00, I bought 2, when I was putting them away, next to the last of the 2 boxes I bought in fall, the boxes are shorter then the old one. Looked at the difference, ones bought in fall were a 15 oz box, new ones are 13.5 oz!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd do about the same, but thread a nut about half way down the bolt, put the washer on and another nut tight up to the washer. But have the washer spin freely. Then use the belt sander to reduce the size, ya can control the washer spin by lightly putting finger pressure on it.JPG40504 wrote:If the bolts are 1/2", chuck a short flat head screw and jam nut a washer one at a time. Thanks for the tip, not used to having a lathe around!!! Stoped in at the Hardware store with my wood, there washers fit in the CB, problem solved.
BTW I did some more horizontal boring tonight, so sweet, and have about 20 clamps here now of various lengths and styles.

So Sweet!!! I was horizontally boring 9/16 daim holes, 4 1/2"" deep, all day into end grain with a spurred spade bit, then set it up to bore 1 1/2 diam holes with a Forstner bit in the drill press mode. What a pleasure!!! Much larger table then a drill press, at 3/4HP all the power and smoothness. Very impressed!!! As my nephew said, a used SS is worth it just for drilling and sanding.
