Pull Out Kitchen Shelf with Norm

Hey sawdust makers,

I am going to install some pull out shelving in my kitchen cabinets. There are lots of kits out there but after looking them over Norm's way looks easier and cheaper. I won't be building the drawer box the same way but close enough.

One of my recent projects was pull out shelves similar to the ones in the link. They actually made the shelves useful. The slides were ordered from Rockler bargain section during one of their free shipping promotions. The shelf material was from yard sales.
No more getting on hand and knees to find things shoved to the back of the shelf. SWMBO was so pleased good things happened.

My wife has been getting just a bit testy lately about tool purchases, even on the cheap from Craigslist. Perhaps my next purchase should be essential for making her some of these handy-dandy shelves.

Nice work Glen. There are kits available from Rockler and Woodcraft and companies like Rev-a-shelf and Quiktray but you have to order them and wait. And truth be told they are no better than a completely shop built solution like Norm's. Although the Quiktray is kind of nice because they are adjustable.

So true. I'll bet 99% of the kitchens out there could benefit from a set or 8 of these.

On a totally unrelated subject Dennis, I stumbled across your youtube video where you show your stiffened power station and how much quieter it is. Do you have any instructions and pictures on how I could do that to my power station? It really makes a racket, probably just annoying but it does not inspire confidence when I fire it up.

Hey Tom, when I suggested posting on the other thread, I was just trying to avoid a thread hijacking ... not realizing that this was your thread! Nevetheless, I'll continue the stiffener dialogue over there.
