Yep, from the people that make everything to the people that take everything.JPG40504 wrote:That is a one way agency!
And, this is supposed to make our productive society better, how?
What gets me, is the notion that people from the land of my father's (and Mitt Romney's father's) birth get voting (as well as support WELL in excess of a disabled veteran) privileges, just for smuggling themselves across the border.
If you look, George Romney, (Willard {Mitt} Romney's dad had dual citizenship, on account of Brigham (Young) sending polygamist families to Canada, and in this case Mexico. In the USA, it doesn't matter which parent has citizenship, (hence Stanley Ann's son is now president) In Mexico, it is a "matrilenear" (the mothers bless their offspring with nationality, not the dads) heritage.
But, if you can smuggle your mother's pregnant body across the border before your child is born, both you, your parents, and all your siblings and offspring can suckle on the US national nipple. (Yes, I'm stretching it here, but we ALL know that ambulances with pregnant women aboard are given "carte blanche" to cross the US/Mexico border, JUST to keep this going.)
OK, which (of the 2 EVIL political parties) are these BRAND NEW citizens going to vote for, when they reach that age? The one that wants MORE semi-legal "citizens," or the one that HOPEFULLY wants to keep America, America?
And, no. I did NOT vote for Willard! I couldn't find someone I liked!

Not only do I think you have your facts wrong, but the (hopefully) unintentional oedipal nature of your example is downright icky.skou wrote:But, if you can smuggle your mother's pregnant body across the border before your child is born, both you, your parents, and all your siblings and offspring can suckle on the US national nipple. What does Oedipus Rex have to do with this?
He was stating a fact re citizenship of Obama. AIUI the 'place' of birth is what counts as well as parentage.
I see many folks at the local health department awaiting essentially free care that outwardly appear to be hispanic and speak española fluently but see next to none who would appear to be disabled vets. Perhaps they be over at the VA. I doubt one would find many of the former there.
I believe unintended reaction to the post is more problematic.
Yep different eyes 'see' things differently. Data gotta go into a previously slanted brain.

Now this I have difficulty in understanding. An Oedipal nature (complex) is a sexual desire for one's mother. That's both the point of the Greek Play, Oedipus Rex and the psychological meaning attached to it. Your ascribing comment which include the word mother to something Oedipal may appear enlightened - on the surface. Jargon, of course often misdirects or redirects people.
Occasionally I've thought about telling JPG how to realign the tricometric indicator support bracket on the superperfosinater he has installed on his Shopsmith. But, I realize that is out of my realm of knowledge. A word to the wise, Dave.

That may well be true. But it doesn't address the truthfulness of Skou's statement, either.I see many folks at the local health department awaiting essentially free care that outwardly appear to be hispanic and speak española fluently but see next to none who would appear to be disabled vets. Perhaps they be over at the VA. I doubt one would find many of the former there.

Read it carefully and literally. I know that's not what he meant, but I chuckled....if you can smuggle your mother's pregnant body across the border before your child is born...
What fact was he presenting? Obama was born in Hawaii; therefore, he's a US citizen. He was stating a fact re citizenship of Obama. AIUI the 'place' of birth is what counts as well as parentage.

Indirectly I was saying the same thing.

Mixed Feelings
I have mixed feelings about some of the things I post (but only after reading the responses): Fear and Dread. Why did I post that? Now they are on to me! Will the NSA track me down and take me to never-never land? Will I be banned from this forum for creating dissent? Well, some or none of that is true. Perhaps I should run for the vacant seat in the Senate or in the House in this state. I'd set up a poll on this site but I already know what the results would be and prefer to think I'm okay. I don't need an informal vote.

Run for the Senate. That sentence is for 6 years.
