1024x1024 will work, just an unusual size unless you've cropped the image.

For now width of 1024 seems to be a reasonable limit. We're on an older version of the forum software and it doesn't appear that the forum resizes images for appropriate display on phones and tablets.

I have rarely been able to use macro mode well. Not that I have tried much. IMHO the useful distance range is quite limited.

I have used the method illustrated by Horologist far more successfully.
