Tip for remounting headstock on mark V model 510

Post by dms8667 »

I removed headstock and packed it separately prior to moving. Now having difficulty re-mounting headstock onto way tubes. Any tips regarding adjusting the wedges such that I can get tubes to pass the wedges? I do not have 1-3/4" OD cardboard tubing.

Got a couple of paper towel cores? TP cores? Not perfect, but should get them close enough. Remove prior to inserting onto the way tubes.

You should be able to see the positioning of the wedge flat from the end of the bore. They need to be as far apart as they will go.

Thanks. I will adjust the wedges to be as far away as possible.
