Woodpecker's Bar Gauges .VS. Bud's Cheap-A$$ed Bar Gauges

Post by bffulgham »

I frequently get email messages from Woodpeckers Precision Woodworking Tools. There was one in my in-box this morning for theirNew OneTime Tool - Bar Gauges.

I'd be glad to sell my own Cheap-A$$ed Bar Gauges for 1/2 of what Woodpecker's is getting for theirs.
Here's my version with the bar set to measure from 7" to 12"

Here I'm using the bar set that will measure up to 96"

And, for an extra special offer.....while supplies last..... you can get Bud's Special Marking Device for only $14.95 that turns my bar gauge into a Story Stick!

While Woodpecker's makes and markets some very nice, high quality devices; sometimes their stuff looks like it is targeted for people who have way more money than common sense.......

Bud, Jay Leno, (I rarely watched him on the Tonight Show, but DO follow him on his car show) claims to be the president of the "more money than brains" club. Evidenced by his MASSIVE collection of cars!

I LIKE your ideas. Just common sense.

First thing I did, after the fire, was to go to HD and get a couple yardsticks. Same principle, but they have a scale printed on them. (You gotta do the math, sometimes.) Second thing, was to replace the 3 foot Stanley tape measure, that fits on my keychain. Handiest tool I've got, and I've ALWAYS got it. (It's about the size of 3 silver dollars, stacked up.)
