I totally understand and agree with that decision.

Hopefully the upcoming elections will change that image.

What I have difficulty understanding all the hoopla over their players being sunburned!:D

IIRC the 'nationals' moved to lose the Washington connotation.

I wonder what percentage of the American Indians are really bothered by the use of the term Redskins.

Is this something that has been stirred up by the media or is it for real? Unfortunately, we can not trust the reporting to learn the answer.

If the native Indians are not bothered by it, what is all the hoopla about?

Gee, and they can't change their name back to what it was to begin with: Boston Braves (and Boston Redskins).

Some 'native' americans (descendants from those who emigrated across the Bering Straight landmass when it was so) do not care, but some do and they appear to be the 'vocal' ones. They are aided and abetted by PC lunatics.

I still maintain PC is a self contradictory oxymoron.(The opinion of a less vocal rational thinking individual;))

It doesn't seem to be a problem in Anadarko, OK, self billed "Indian Capital of the Nation".

In my day they were Boston Red Socks. And, the Braves went to Milwaukee and kept the Braves moniker. Think NBL and ABL each in the same city.(not uncommon)
