New shopsmith site
I just found Doug Reids Shopsmith site. I don't know how many of you knew it existed but I just found it today from watching a Youtube and saw his site address in it.
The site is

Looking around there and seen this. What if you needed to adjust the blade height just a bit, you have to move all that separately ?

What's "a bit"? 1/16" or 1/8"? If the table is going up for a shallower cut, I doubt that the fore and aft tables would need adjustment. since they are just in feed and out feed and the extension tables would not cause any binding. However if you are dropping the table for a deeper cut, then I would imagine extension tables and the support legs on all the indeed and out would need tweaking.beatnik wrote:Looking around there and seen this. Or... was that just a rhetorical question?
There are some links on the "Classes for Shopsmith owners" page that point to 3 videos on how to assemble and align a 510. Susan Reid and Mike Young are the 'instructors'. I find the segment at the end of the second video and continued in the third video somewhat amusing (or "only in your dreams"). Here's the links:Ed in Tampa wrote:I just found Doug Reids Shopsmith site. Interesting how she 'tightened' the upper nuts on the extension table.bffulgham wrote:There are some links on the "Classes for Shopsmith owners" page that point to 3 videos on how to assemble and align a 510.
