New Hardwood store in Cincinnati

Post by cincinnati »

Just had the opportunity to visit the new Hardwood Lumber and More that opened on the east side of Cincinnati in Milford. Very good lumber in the racks. The guys that worked for Paxton opened their own store after they closed.
If in the area you need to check them out. They are in the old Thriftway store next to K-mart on HWY 28. Kinda reminds you of the old Shopsmith stores but with a full line hardwood lumber store.

Hi there Mr. B.Hawk! I was successful in googling the K mart in Milford. Was unsuccessful in coping the map for you though.

Here's the address of the K-Mart on Hyw 28.:
Kmart Stores: Milford‎
876 State Route 28 # 1, Milford, OH
(513) 248-0113‎

You can put this address into Google Maps and see where it lays. Or use your Map Quest.

Chuck, I tried that with Mapquest and they only found a K-Mart in KY!

Actually, The Brown Hawk Woodworking and Cabinet Shop was a woodworking business my cousin and I were going to start together. It never went anywhere other than some talk. His name was Brown, and mine is Hawkins, so that was where the name came from, and I never really forgot it. So now it's my screen name, which seems very appropriate for this forum. :)

Cinci, thanks for the link.

That's the kind of problems I also had with Map Quest. That's why I went to Google maps.

Maybe we are looking for a store that is no longer there and Map Quest has figured it out while Google hasn't.

I think someone on this thread said that "Hardwood Lumber" was located in the old K-Mart Store in Milford.

I believe the description used was "They are in the old Thriftway store next to K-mart on HWY 28". As it turns out - the lumber company is located at 848 Molly Lane, Milford, OH 45150. The address of the K-mart is or was 876 State Route 28 # 1, Milford, OH

Google shows me the Lumber store is .4 of a mile away from the K-mart address. (Actually .3 mile plus 643 feet.):D

If you haven't tried Google maps and Google directions you really should! They also can show a satellite map, if you wish. You can even find a satellite photo of your house. To use this all you have to do is from the Google home page - click on Maps. Then if you want driving directions - click on "Get Directions". I've found the satellite maps are very helpful, more so than street maps, you can use landmarks such as trees, open areas and buildings as well as streets. An enlarged view is just like using an aerial photo that has been enhanced with streets and roads marked.

Molly lane is the small access road that runs along side the store. Hwy 28 is the main highway in front of the store. K-mart is on the west end of the shopping center. Lumber store on the east end.

Looking at this map molly lane is shown running behind the store.
