today in the shop (parts cabinet shelf)

Post by reible »

Today's efforts were attaching the last three pieces and then setting it up for pictures followed by moving it in the garage.

It took me two days to get to this point. No parts were cut on a shopsmith. I used an edge guide to rip (circular saw), chopsaw to cut to length, router to make the dados..........kreg jig to do the frames......

Just wanted to point out I'm still alive and still wood working. Was at Iola, WI yesterday with my two remaining brothers, we have not all been in one place at the same time in maybe 35 years so we figured it was time. And it was great! We will have to see if we can manage another outing soon.

Anyway I know things don't happen unless there are pictures.

Ed,

Thanks for posting this. I have a bunch of yellow-handled boxes, from Harbor Freight. I've been planning on building some slots in my CNC base to hold some, hadn't quite figured out how to put them in. This design will be close to what I do.

Where did you purchase the green-handled boxes? Are they the same configuration as the yellow boxes?

Thanks,
Roy

Smaller yellow (two per shelf)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005 ... TF8&psc=1#

Large green

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EH ... UTF8&psc=1

Large yellow

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001G1 ... UTF8&psc=1

This shelf is just for those 3 types, I have more then is shown here but will be ordering 2 more of the thinner ones to fill it up. Future growth will require another shelf after that.
