I have an intermittent video resolution problem on the computer that I am using right now. When the problem does occur, I can correct it by resetting the resolution. Some times I need to do it three or four times but when it corrects it may stay for days.
My question: Is it reasonable for me to suspect the video card? Does the MOBO enter into this as a suspect part?
If I ignore the poor resolution and simply continue using the computer, everything seems to work.

Reset from what to what? In control panel?
P.S. What is the 'native' resolution of the 'monitor'?

Reset screen resolution as viewed in "Display Properties". It operates at 1600x900. When the problem occurs, I simply reset it to 1600x900.JPG40504 wrote:Reset from what to what? In control panel?

Reset is probably a misleading word because I change nothing.

Before you reset it, is it set to something different(from the system view)? If not, I would be suspicious of the video adapter.
