It's mind boggling!

Post by dgreen810 »

I am a member of several Rifle and woodworking forums and post on occasion. It boggles my mind at the number of people that never and I mean never seem to read their emails or check for private messages. Or if they do and fail to respond, I find it disgusting. What do others think?

Yeah, it can be annoying.

I do understand that e-mails forwarded through forums often get intercepted by spam filters.

The recipient also needs to setup and allow email forwarding. Not all forum software is created equally, some do it by default, some don't. and on some the user needs to allow it. I for one rarely allow a forum to forward e-mail. I prefer to have the forum notify me of a PM.

As for not reading PMs ignorant of the function (You'd be surprised) or lazy.

I think there a lot of folks who are clueless at what these thing both do or are capable of. Same folks that Microsoft panders to(a computer is used by the user to set operating system stuff, but little else!) 'think' whatever happens, happens.

Whatever first appears is never controlled nor changed.

There are times in which you do not want an email from a specific person. Had one the other day. Have a few more who are so self righteous and superior, the I simply block them. Some emails from commercial posts are automatically placed in the trash or spam folders. But, as the OP stated, if this is someone with whom you have no problems, they should be respectful and respond. My 2 cents.:D
