Jointer blade sharpening service
I just can't get my jointer blades sharpened correctly. I tried making my own version of the Duelen sharpening jig, but it's just not working out that well for me and I'm tired of futzing around with it. Does anybody have any recommendations for a sharpening service? The blades I need sharpened are an odd size - 4-1/4".

length should have nothing to do with it but price, they usually charge by the inch. Do a search on the net by you, better hardware stores usually are connected to a service/shop that they send out to.
Measure once, cut as many times as needed to get it right! Bob

This is a service that I offer. I have a Mark V Power Station with tillable table set up with the Shopsmith conical sanding disk and the Shopsmith Joiner/Planer Knife Sharpener. Heath if ya use a local sharpening service their will get them sharp, BUT I bet they will take the max amount to sharpen them. Which will leave ya with knives at the minimum width or less for use. I'd go with Bill M.
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.
