I've received several SPAM messages over the last month or so that appear to be an offer from Woodworker's Journal, or American Woodworker, or Popular Woodworking, or ..... for a set of plans. I almost clicked on one of them without looking because I had been communicating that same day with whatever real publisher it was (but I didn't pull the click-trigger).....
Anyway, this is what they all pretty much have looked like:

Some have looked more correct with an embedded hyperlink instead of a plain-text/visible hyperlink.
Bogus indicator 1: The "From:" line.
Woodworker's Journal ain't gonna be sending messages from "@gentsjackets.com"
Bogus indicator 2: Notice how the letters are formed...They look a whole lot like the Russian alphabet. The letter "e" changes from one word to the next. Other characters morph as well.
Don't know where the web link would take you, but I ain't going there.
Just sayin' "Be careful of what you click on".
Not tryin' to start a "My OS is best" argument.

It amazes me how they can get all this information. I got a snail mail letter addressed to me that said for wood magazine subscribers. Inside it was actually for life insurance I think, didn't bother reading too much between the letter opener and shredder.
For one, I haven't subscribed to any magazines in 20 years, last I was subscribed to wood was at least 25 years ago.

This is (almost) off subject, but not quite.
Quite a few years ago, I loaned my cordless
land line phone to a neighbor, because he was out of
minutes for his call phone. Back then, we were on speaking
terms, but later on, not so much.
I am STILL getting phone calls from bill collectors, looking
for his smelly posterior. Yes, am as rude and crude to them
as I can be. (Son-of-a-b**** STILL owes me $400!) I got
a call, just yesterday. Yes, I'm baiting the collectors to try
to sue me, when they think I'm him.

10 ER, stripped down.
Basic 10ER, Parts machine. Will be a semi-dedicated drill-press machine.
10 ER, a "survivor" of the trailer fire, in the back yard, needing restoration. Has a Mk5 headrest. Finally, stripped down.
Numerous parts, for Model 10 stuff. Except for lower saw guard, A and B adapters, I've got it.
Looking for one more, or some 9 inch extension table raisers.

The longer I wear my tin foil hat the more I wonder. That subscription to wood magazine was probably five addresses back ? How do they even relate me to that and would they really go to all the trouble to search me out ? Unless Amazon is selling info and I searched some router bit or something. Them and Ebay are all that have my name/address online besides a few bills.
