"Jethro Gibbs"ing my Model 10.

Post by skou »

OK, a couple days ago, my next-door neighbor, "Jethro Gibbs"ed my 10 ER, in my front room.
Now, he wants a "Model 10" coffee table.

(For those of you that DON'T watch NCIS, Jethro Gibbs, the lead character has a Model 10, in his shop. So far, all he's done is use the table as a Bourbon {Wild Turkey} table.) Jesse, my next-door neighbor had rum-n-Coke in his glass. He IS a fan of NCIS, and knew EXACTLY what he was doing. (Although, in his defense, the Model 10 table was the only un-cluttered spot in my apartment.)

Yes, I've had a few tonight, and so has Jesse.

10 ER, stripped down.
Basic 10ER, Parts machine. Will be a semi-dedicated drill-press machine.
10 ER, a "survivor" of the trailer fire, in the back yard, needing restoration. Has a Mk5 headrest. Finally, stripped down.
Numerous parts, for Model 10 stuff. Except for lower saw guard, A and B adapters, I've got it.

Looking for one more, or some 9 inch extension table raisers.

I reckon that make a Model 10E/R officially a six-function machine!

But changeover time from function #6 had best be about eight hours.

Army Aircraft rule, which I adhere to, is 12 hours from bottle to throttle.

But, unlike Jethro's, my motor is off the headstock, so I can actually go to ANY of the 6 functions, without causing any harm. (Unless I drop something on a foot, or forget to lock a lock and something slides down and mashes a finger.)

I have found that the miter slots of the 500 table and the old cast iron bandsaw table to be just the right size to hold a 50 ring gauge cigar.

I don't watch tv, so I did not know that. Cool.

I found a picture.

Had a friend come over Saturday night, (who also is a BIG fan of NCIS) who KNEW he was "Jethro-ing" my ER.:D

(In their defense, the ER table was the only place to rest a drink in the front room, except my computer desk.)

It's not really a big deal, because I've got more tables than complete ERs, which means I've got a spare or 2.
