I am so over Home Depot

T8 cheap?????????

T12 ballast $15-$25 depending on what you buy.

T8 ballast $25 + depending on what you buy.

T12 tube $1.50 - $8.00 depending on what you buy.

T8 tube $8.00 + depending on what you buy.

I spent most of the week deep into fluorescent lighting, believe me, and never once did I find anything labeled T8 cheaper or less expensive than I could find in T12. That included Home Depot, Lowes, and Ace Hardware.

So what was it at HD that you 'got over? Only reason I go there is it is closer than Lowes and the one and only hardware store local which is crosstown.

Home Depot once was my store. I managed to find a reason to go there about once a week. I knew store inventory better than most employees.

However down through the years the quality of their products has fallen.
I can go to Lowes and/or Ace find the same product for about the same price but with much higher quality.

First I got burnt on their plywood from China. Then there was the dry wall fiasco. Then it was their screening, that wasn't worth hitting a bull in the butt with. And now their fluorescent tubes which actually were more expensive than Ace Hardware tubes and had at least as many bad tubes as good.

At one time I spent about a $1000 a week through their contractor desk. Now I am spending $21 in store credit buying roundup and some plants. And I have no plans of going back for a while.

I am not an HD fan either. Bought some indoor/outdoor fans a few years back for an enclosed lanai and have had repeated failures of the capacitors in each of the fans. three each so far. The last replacement lasted 3 weeks. I don't think I will buy electrical stuff from HD again.
