I see today's special is for a "reconditioned" 505. The ad indicates they got the headstocks from trade-ins and demonstrators and that they've reconditioned them.
They've sold refurbished headstocks before. But what caught my is in the ad is that the remaining 505 components apparently are a mixture of new and reconditioned parts. I don't recall a special that has included any other reconditioned parts. It will be interesting to see if this is a one off or a harbinger of Shopsmith getting into the reconditioned/refurbished parts business.

Hmmm, $2500 plus shipping. It makes me wonder why I did not get into this business when I first retired.
Oh, I know. I had not yet done my first tear down and rebuild. I did not know how easy it was to refurbish a Mark 5/V.
There may be a market but if I was shopping - at that price I would buy a new one.
