Ideas?

Anyone have a illustrated parts breakdown for the Mk VII, so I don't have to ask for help each time ?

It is an arbor and because of its' size, I would say that it is not for a router or shaper. That leaves a saw blade of some kind and my QUESS is that it is for a dado blade.

The size of the arbor hole being dictated by the diameter of the threaded shaft.

That is a saw arbor, for either a dado blade or blade stack. You could also stick a wire wheel on it if you wanted. I had a spare one of those and that is what I did with it.

That is a 5/8" 'universal' arbor(back then Part # 22031). It was used for either a saw blade or to mount the molder head or grinding wheel or . . . . The keyed washer allows use regardless of the rotation direction. The different size spacers accommodate different thicknesses of things mounted. The keyed washer ALWAYS goes beneath the nut. The undercut side of the spacer goes towards the thing being mounted.

Essentially the same as the one Dusty linked to. I believe the length is different. I think the newer one can interfere with the trunion on the older models.

Do you have a copy of the 'parts manual'? Or are these 'accessories' getting you confused?

"Not for use with the Shopsmith 10-ER, Mark 2 or old Mark VII." Copied from the internet catalog.

For those of you who are interested, this WILL work with the Model 10, (I've got a couple) and I'm pretty sure with the Mark 2 and Mark VII, as well. As a note, if you have a Model 10 set up with the screw for automatically spacing the blade to the table slot, THAT won't be set correctly.

I believe the length of the threaded portion can interfere with the trunion on all those models if the washers/spacers are not assembled correctly(sticks out from the nut too far. The auto spacing does not come to bear here for those model(s) either. I do not know why the Mark 5 is not on that list(or the '500').

Depends upon your risk tolerance.

Many have done so!

I prefer methods other than grinding wheels.
