Time to Panic yet?
In 6 more days we will know if it's time to panic in Texas. I've already made plans to fly to New Zeland before they shut down all exits

Fred, I used to work in New Zealand with the military. It's a wonderful place and the people like Americans and Uncle Sam. However, they have one of the most rigorous customs office in the world, originally fearing that Mad Cow disease would be brought into their country. I have been in C17 Globemasters while custom officials gassed the interior of the plane, military members included. Never did find out what we were gassed with, but I didn't get sick - yet
No, Fred. Stay put. They would see you are from Dallas and throw you in quarantine.

Back in the day, I found a termite infestation in my house. The recommended treatment of the time was drill the foundation very 6 inches and pressure inject Clorodane into the soil under the house.
I had a company come out and do the work. During the process about every 20th hole or so for one reason or another the mix would spray back into the installers face. Of course back in late 70's he wasn't wearing any protective gear.
I was watching and when this happened I asked him about it since I knew clorodane was very strong and even then they were talking of outlawing it.
He said "Nay I get squirted all the time and I'm fine." I kind of nodded and stepped back and studied the man. As best I could tell he had less than 3 teeth in his head and huge 1 inch or bigger warts all over his face.
Convinced me to step back even further.

Well, since I have been saying this since the 60's, and it gives me another reason, make sure you Texans stay in Texas and quit coming to New Mexico ......

Or you'll suffer the consequences. And that's the truth. Ask Ralph Edwards. Hot Springs, NM did.rjent wrote:Well, since I have been saying this since the 60's, and it gives me another reason, make sure you Texans stay in Texas and quit coming to New Mexico ......
In 1965 I moved from NM to NY and met a fellow New Mexican on Long Island. She was stopped for some traffic violation by a Suffolk County deputy and on her Driver's License it read, "T or C" (probably still does). He asked what T or C was and she told him. He said, "Don't get smart with me! What's T or C?" She repeated it. This went on for some time and he got madder each time. She tried to explain and I did also. He threatened to arrest both of us. He wrote her two tickets; one for the violation and another for failure to cooperate with a police officer or some such charge. When she went to court in Riverhead she told the judge what happened. The judge asked her how long she planned to stay in this country. She had to explain to him that New Mexico was part of the US. The judge ended up dismissing everything.

You DO realize that as far as New Yorkers are concerned, the country ends just west of Buffalo.(at least the part that matters:D)
