LOOKS like a riding lawnmower engine installed on it and somebody got SLOPPY adding oil.
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

As a Harley rider... that's funny!

But that's a "feature" so you will know when you're out of oil. :D

Nope, they are made that way. It helps you find where you parked your bike after someone steals it. That was one of the benefits of owning a BSA or Triumph; it made it easy to point out to the Police that it was there which helped when you filed a claim with your insurance company. Of course, back in those days I didn't have ANY insurance but more sane owners did.
