Shopsmith Woodworking Bench

I run across a CL posting the other day for a Shopsmith Woodworking bench. It was listed by This and That thrift store under sporting goods as a reloading table. I forgot to ask the seller why they thought it was a reloading table.
I think my justification for buying the bench falls under reason #3 #5 & # 11 of db5's Ten Reasons Why post.
After negations I picked it up for $100. But that wasn't the expensive part of the trip. I made the mistake of mentioning that I was going to a thrift store to look at some SS equipment. So my wife, being a thrift shop junkie, invited herself along. Now for the expensive part they had a consignment display of Pfaltzgraff Yorktown china. It featured several pieces missing from her collection. I was trapped I couldn't say no I just purchased another SS item.
So much for my brag now for my question.
On the underside of the of the bench next to the dog holes There is a row of bolt holes. What was mounted there? Or could they have been shipping bracket holes.

Aside from the SS logo, is there anything special about this bench? Like maybe the height is compatible with the SS?

My SS workbench doesn't have any holes on the underside so I'd say a previous owner probably had a shelf, drawer or cabinet mounted to it.

SS table goes up & down so I'd think it would be difficult to set-up as either a in-feed or out-feed table for saw functions. Not impossible but not easily done. As far as being anything special, the SS logo on something not being sold any longer was biggest factor for me getting one. That aside, in today's dollars you would have to spend around 2K for something as heavy and robust as this item. Mine is 30 some years old and still in great shape and it will last another 30 years. They don't show up very often but I'd buy another in a heartbeat. I will probably add a few round dog holes at some point but if you had one of these you wouldn't say to yourself, I wish I would have bought the (you fill in the blank). As a side note, this bench was used by Scott Phillips when SS sponsored his show. Put in storage when SS stopped sponsorship and had 1 other user before I got it.

Good question I don't think it would of occurred to me to check.

I picked it up in Tucson last week and haven't been home yet. I dismantled the bench. Had to take the tail vice and legs off to make it fit. Now it's rattling around in the back of our SUV.

The one I just purchased has very little wear the vices look almost new. But is not nearly as nice condition as yours.

Yours appears to have some sort of finish on it. Mine may have a wood sealer but doesn't appear to have a finish. Or any finnish may have deteriorated to the point it's non existent.
