For any of you that are interested I'm still alive and have been home for almost 24 hours now.
Can't lift anything over 5 pounds etc etc
Found out my skin doesn't handle tape very well anymore. More sore from that then the two operations. Feeling pretty well but shop time may well be over for the season, saw snow flakes in the air here near Chicago.
Didn't take any pain meds so have no driving restrictions and was to the Dr. this morning to have the drain removed and now I'm off to drop a 24 hour sample collection off at the lab.
Much rather have shop time projects going on but you have to do what you have to do and keep doing it while you can, at least that is how I feel now.

Here is Ed's mention of impending surgery in the thread "Proud of the boy" where his son just acquired a Shopsmith of his own.
"It is now in a storage locker. I'm in for surgery Monday so it will be at least 3 weeks before I can help get him started on all that needs to be done. One thing will be getting him on the forum so he can read up on what needs to be done while I'm dealing with medical restrictions."

Welcome back Knight. Great your still kicking. But ya might want to hold back on that kicking for awhile, till you are less restricted.

Take care of yourself and be very careful about your weight restrictions. I found that my recliner operation was way over my limits so I slipped a plastic vacuum cleaner wand over the little lever so I could work it easier. I also found that sitting on a big plastic trash bag allowed me to slide in and out of the chair much easier. My wife was having to help me up and down at first so we put the chair up on 6" blocks for a time and I could just stand up alone.
