Good day of turning!

Had a nice day in the shop. Baker's dozen of ornamenta birdhouses (upside down in the photo!). Making the roofs tomorrow.

They're for little craft birds.... Just decorative! They're about 1 1/2 to 2 inches tall:)

Nice. I like the finish too. What are you using to get the colors? I would guess TransTint Liquid Dyes?

Looks good! Do you drill the cross holes and then turn, or turn and then drill? The edges look really clean.

I have been using Behlen Solar-Lux Stain (a dye)... But I just got back from Woodcraft with some TransTint to try. I'm going to first try it mixed with water...:)

I think you will like them. I've used them with alcohol and water and as a tint with shellac. Preferred alcohol.
