Deflectors for saw guard needed
I recently obtained an upper and lower guard for my 1955 SS but it is missing the two deflectors (part #515370). Does anyone know where to get a used set?

Not used but new. The required parts are available here for the low, low price of $22 (I sure do hope that is for a pair).brianvw wrote:I recently obtained an upper and lower guard for my 1955 SS but it is missing the two deflectors (part #515370). Does anyone know where to get a used set?

Hi,
Perhaps I or someone else (who might get to it before me) can take a picture of what they look like and maybe find the time to add some dimensions.... They would be very simple to make. If I recall correctly they are identical so only one drawing would be needed. [Edit: the two look different so we need two drawings.]
Can't promice when I can get to this do to factors beyound my control.

Ah, I need them too. I don't think they need to be exact, just close enough that they serve the function without binding or causing any problems.
I haven't looked closely to see if there are potential issues. If someone could post photos I too would be grateful. I think the parts are mirror images of each other but otherwise identical, but that's an assumption.
I'm finally getting dust collection going, my cyclone and hoses etc. arrive Tuesday. I gather the table saw dust collection is weak at best so missing parts are going to matter. I've been hand tool only until getting my shopsmiths a few months ago with much less to worry about - large shavings, little dust. Just making a small jointer and planer knife sharpening jig I used my band saw, jointer, table saw, drill press and planer and made enough dust to realize it's really not optional.

Greenie (no serial #), 82 Mark V 500 serial #128648, ci bandsaw, old jigsaw, planer. All one buy in March 2014. Magna Jointer added Nov. '14. Speed reducer, conical disk and two bearing quill upgrade.
This may be what you are looking for. I got these with a set of guards purchased on Ebay but have not installed them yet. I think they are a design that pre-dates what is shown in the parts diagram.
The tie bar shield they came with looks like this.

And these are the deflectors.

Note they are photographed on 1/4" graph paper.
