But, after some testing I am convinced that there is a problem with the search function. The search tool is not returning results I know that should be there. For instance, if I type in the word "canoe" I get 37 results, but none more recent than 2011. I know that both newportcycle and I have had threads in 2014 documenting our builds in which the word "canoe" appears multiple times. But they don't show up in the search. I'd be surprised if this is an isolated incident or a coincidence.

Search Improved But Not All Threads Indexed?
If you haven't noticed, there are is a new "Advanced Forum Search" function that really improves the ability to look for threads using more of a boolean type search.
You can search within search results.
You can search by author.

Re: Search Improved But Not All Threads Indexed?
The capabilities of the Search function are definitely expanded but the search conditions must be accurately stated. Brackets, vertiocal bars, etc must be used to get the most out of the search.
Searching for some of my own posts, I find a great frustration with my posts. NO TITLES. I believe that effective search results must have titles. I must work harder to comply with this.

Thanks for the "heads up". There was a problem with the search index build during conversion from the old software. It is corrected now.algale wrote:If you haven't noticed, there are is a new "Advanced Forum Search" function that really improves the ability to look for threads using more of a boolean type search. You can search within search results.
