Wax on, Wax off

Yes, Dusty,I am referring to the JPW image. No, don't edit it. Maybe it will help Admin figure out what is going on. For such a modestly sized imaged (based on the number of pixels), it is occupying a huge amount of screen space and mucking up word wrap.

After viewing it in Shopsmith1, I understand the comments.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that the image was downloaded from online images. It is not my own photo image. But then there is the question of why the two (Shopsmith1 and prosilver) handle it so differently.

JPW is all right for my SS. I approached it with a bottle of Boeshield and it cringed.

Just to show that I am not partial to discussing only Shopsmith, this is what I do not intend to use on my equipment. I also want to point out that my own partiality for Johnsons Paste Wax is for use on the equipment. Shopsmith's take on MinWax is for more than that. They taut it for waxing wood projects as well.

PS: The website prefers MinWax too. No word wrap.

Interesting. I'm using the prosilver board style. Dusty's JPW image is small like you would expect from a 300 x 300 pic. In case it matters, I'm using Internet Explorer.

These are the sorta thing that makes the life of a moderator so very interesting. It is also what should make us so very grateful for our moderator and for the website.

I don't know what sorta headaches this transition has caused behind the scenes but from here it seems to have been quit graceful.

Interestingly, the minwax picture causes none of the issues the JPW picture did. So at least in that one respect, minwax appears to be superior for the Shopsmith (or at least the Shopsmith Forum )

I agree Admin has done an admirable job of rolling out this new software and hunting down and fixing the inevitable "interesting" developments.

I don't know about that. It may have something to do with the guy who posted it.

I have always used the Minwax finishing wax and have had great results, however now nearing the end of the can I had noticed that most of you have talked about using Johnson's paste wax and I had also noticed it runs almost $3.00 a can cheaper at my local Lowes store. If it works as good as Minwax I'll save 3 bucks!
