10 ER, stripped down.
Basic 10ER, Parts machine. Will be a semi-dedicated drill-press machine.
10 ER, a "survivor" of the trailer fire, in the back yard, needing restoration. Has a Mk5 headrest. Finally, stripped down.
Numerous parts, for Model 10 stuff. Except for lower saw guard, A and B adapters, I've got it.
Looking for one more, or some 9 inch extension table raisers.

I have also.
I was also in Hawaii on Dec 7th, 1991. The 50th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. Attended a couple of the memorials and they all were very moving. Being an ex Sailor, it is near and dear.

Haven't visited but would like to.
December 7th is special in my family for another reason: it is my son's birthday! My daughter's birthday is June 5, which was supposed to be D-Day before weather forced it to be postponed until June 6.

I have been to the memorial. This was a day that was well spent. It starts out early in the morning and is a very moving experience that I recommend to everyone who visits the Oahu. Take the whole tour, Arizona + all the surrounding areas ie; the big M.

IIUC, there are more Japanese tourists than American tourists.
I find that interesting. Not negative, but something on a higher plane.
How quickly 'WE' forget.
After all the trip is longer for them.

I noticed the same thing. It is a FABULOUS monument. Very moving. I would have liked to spend more time on it (rather than the one trip of the boat) but I also understand why it is done.JPG wrote:IIUC, there are more Japanese tourists than American tourists.

Also saw Punchbowl cemetery while we were there, that too was very impressive.

Funny, I've never been On it, but I've seen it hundreds of times. It is quite visible (and unmistakable!) from many vantage points on that side.skou wrote:How many of you have been to the Arizona Memorial?

If I get it right into my direct range of vision (not so much peripherally) I can't help but Notice it, iykwim. Usually thoughts of what it must have been like if I were driving along right here but on Dec 7, '41 come to mind, and that sort of thing.
We go by the memorial from time to time when it's not crowded, sorta 'checking up', but really 'checking in'. I guess the sea air in the Harbor must be salty er something, cause my eyes always get drippy...
And where did this come from as I sat here last Sunday watchin old war movies--
Dec 7, '41 -- Tojo
Dec 7, '14 -- Obama
