Saw Blade Sharpening

Here in Seattle we have a great local outfit that does saw sharpening called Emerald Tool Inc. phone: (800) 759-2272. I just picked up 4 blades they sharpened for me. They looked great.

Another vote for Forrest. I broke a tooth on one of their blades. I sent it in to Forrest and it came back working like a new blade. And yes, they cut very nicely. No need to joint the edge after using it.

I use Forrest to sharpen my blades. I had three blades sharpened here lovally the last time I needed blades sharpened. Excellent price with a one week turnaround. NEVER AGAIN. Back to Forrest.

A also recently bought a new blade; I discarded one of the blades I had sharpened (I might send it to Forrest as an experiment). The blade I bought works great but I have not been doing a lot of wood working so I can't give it a complete review. I bought a Shopsmith Combo (555958) when they last went on special.

One way to find out who does the best sharpening in town is to pay a visit to a local cabinet shop and ask them who does their sharpening. They use sharpening services on a regular basis and will know who does the best work. When sold my shop I kept my blades which are all Freud. Some of them have been sharpened six eight times and are as good as new. Cabinet shops rely on their sharpening service to survive so they are pretty good resource for who is the best at it.
