Needless to say, I am a bit envious. I do hope that you get as much fun and pleasure from your Mark 7 as I have from my Mark V. Take proper care of it and it will serve you well for many years to come.

I finally got my 7 this past summer. You're gonna love it. My only regret is that I didn't get one sooner

As Chris said. Welcome to the "vortex"!

Thanks everybody! I hope you all had a very merry Christmas. Mine was grand even without the SS.

Yea, I broke the palette apart before leaving and expect to use some of that wood. Maybe for my first saw horses. Those nails are a pain to remove, though. The heads were breaking off with only the slightest pull.

And now I've learned that we'll have house guests when we get back to town, so I won't get much opportunity to play with the new toys for a while, yet.

How exciting. I am new to the forum too but I'm a long time user and former Shopsmith accademy instructor. I remember the delivery and helping my dad unpack his new Mark v 500 in 1976 when I was just a kid. I have been woodworking ever since. :)
